An extremely rare and very charming antique Victorian, sterling silver. Large spider brooch, set with sparkling garnet eyes. The spider has a fantastic design engraved into its topside, giving an almost'cut steel' effect and it has a hammered effect on its underside - I have never seen anything quite like it. The silver has a nice aged patina.

So I haven't cleaned it. It fastens with a simple early catch and has a ring on the reverse so that it can also be worn as a pendant.
